Care Club began Earth Day at Turner Elementary by singing the "Singing Recycling Bins" song! The Earth Day story What Can I Do? will be read in classrooms. After the story students can write an Earth Day promise on a green heart – one thing they can do to make a difference. This year Care Club has made a big paper earth and put it up in the hall. Anytime during Earth Week students can attach their hearts to the Earth. We hope to cover the Earth with promises!
(Song sung to the tune of "Sloop John B" by The Beach Boys, 1966.)
"I wait here by the curb, with my old friend Herb
Hoping for bottles and cans to fill my cart
Plastics alright, cardboard's a delight
When you recycle, you're doing your part.
So round up all you can, to help your fellow man
Keep the planet healthy wherever you roam
You're not acting alone, the earth is your home
Yeah, yeah
When you recycle, you're saving your home."
